About Iain

Iain has had a passion for art and music as long as he can remember. He works primarily in watercolours, although he has been known to use acrylics on canvas.

In the mid 1990s, Iain first dipped his feet into producing bespoke frames in order to sell his work and was when he took his first jobs for others. Fast forward to today, he has returned to the framing world full time. He finds the opportunity especially exciting – to be part of the artistic journey in creating the ‘perfect’ framing vehicle for accompanying each piece.

Iain is a qualified RGN and has seen 25 years service in diverse areas such as A+E.  He has worked for  Robert Gordon University, Edinburgh University and latterly the University of the Highlands and Islands as a lecturer in Health and Care. He has a BSC in Computing as well as other qualifications (including a Higher in art from 1987!). In August 2024, Iain completed and passed an in- depth  week long framing course with renowned Accredited Examiner and Trainer Ian Kenny and is working towards Guild Certified Framer qualifications.

Iain left his job as a lecturer to set up this framing business full time – which has entailed building a purpose built workshop (using a Polycrub) in  his garden as well as sourcing brand new equipment.
